This power packed forum will bring some of the best names in global and Indian automotive industry on a platform to discuss design innovation as a key driver to sustainable growth irrespective of economic turbulence. Automotive Innovation forum is part of the Autodesk University India and is scheduled on Thursday, 11th September at Hotel Renaissances Convention Center, Powai Mumbai.
This Conference would broadly focus on :

  • Wicked problem solving workshop by Tom Wujec - In this workshop, Tom Wujec, Award winning innovator and TED speaker, illustrates how senior leaders can identify wicked problems and apply a range of effective approaches to unpack core dilemmas. He will illustrate how to identify component parts of whole problems, making the who, what, where, when and why visible, tangible and consequential.
  • Panel discussion with NDTV Car and Bike show host Siddharth Vinayak Patankar - Current design trends, challenges and opportunities for automotive OEMs
                 a. Other panelists are :

                           ii. Anil Saini – Director Design – India, General Motors

Frank Stephenson
Design Director – McLaren

Frank Stephenson began his career in 1986 with Ford Motor. He has been associated with all big brands in Automobile industry like BMW Group, Fiat, Ferrari and the Maserati. Frank joined McLaren Automotive in 2008 as Design Director and has led the designs of the 12C and the McLaren P1TM

Siddharth Vinayak Patankar
Editor – Auto at NDTV

Steve Blum is Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Services at Autodesk, Inc. and he is responsible for driving sales worldwide of Autodesk solutions into the AEC, Engineering, Natural Resources & Infrastructure, Manufacturing, and Media & Entertainment industries as well as to customers within Emerging Markets. He also oversees the company’s consulting, premium support, named account, subscription, emerging market and channel programs around the world.

Anil Saini
Design Director - General Motors

Anil Saini is working as Design Director at General Motors India. He has experience in designing Automotive / Consumer Products and Managing different aspects of New Product development. He was instrumental in setting up Industrial Design/ Styling Studio at Bajaj Auto. He has implemented Design and Surfacing Solutions at various companies in India like TVS Motors, Eicher, Hero Motors and LML.

Pratap Bose
Head of Design - Tata Motors

Pratap Bose is currently working as the Head of Design at Tata Motors. He started his career as a Trainee Designer at Maruti Udyog Limited and has worked with Piaggio & C.SpA, Pontedera, Italy. He has worked as a lead designer in the Mercedes Benz Advanced Design Center, Japan. In his current role at Tata Motors is responsible for the design of Bolt and Zest.

Robert Melville
Head of Design - McLaren

Robert Melville began his career in 2003 with Land Rover working within Advanced Design. The key task was to visually develop the future visual direction of the brand; which has led to the current look seen on the Evoque and Range Rover. In 2006 he moved to General Motors Advanced Design as Senior Designer. The work covered a wide range of brands such as Corvette, Hummer, Buick, Saab and finally Cadillac where the Conver showcar was a key project. Robert joined McLaren Automotive in 2009 as Head of Design and has led the designs of the McLaren P1™, 650S and P1GTR.
